The Department of Physics has an opening for an Assistant Research Professor in Experimental Nuclear Physics, for a three-year term. We seek a person for this non-tenure-accruing faculty position who will be concerned mainly with our program in Hall B at Jefferson Lab. This program involves experiments with polarized tagged-photon beams on the nucleon and light nuclei.
Basic Qualifications: We seek a person having experience in experimental nuclear physics beyond the Ph.D. degree. Prior experience in medium-energy nuclear physics, electromagnetic interactions, and/or few-body nuclei is essential. The primary skill necessary for this position is expertise in data analysis.
Preferred Qualications: Experience with nuclear particle and radiation detectors and data-acquisition systems is also valuable. In addition to research activities, the holder of this position will teach one course per semester or the equivalent.
